BARCELONA - THE LEGEND ARRIVES TO EUROPE

The best player to have ever played the game, Diego Maradona is most remembered for his feats with the Argentina national team and Italian club Napoli, but the legend first arrived on European shores with FC Barcelona in 1982.

During the 1983-1984 season, Maradona helped FC Barcelona win the Copa del Rey, and on June 26, 1983 he became the first visiting Barcelona player to be applauded by Real Madrid fans after scoring and helping Barcelona defeat their longtime rivals. 

DIEGO MARADONA WORN AND SIGNED BOOTS FROM FC BARCELONA, 1983-1984

The legendary Diego Maradona hand signed these Puma boots that he wore during the 1983-1984 season while playing for FC Barcelona. Maradona gifted the boots to the son of a club worker, who transferred them to the Association of Collectors of FC Barcelona. He signed the soccer shoes in black ink over the white Puma brand stripes, listing his number 10 beneath his name.
